"I wanted to thank you, Will, john, Joe, and all the Wild Onion Scallions (aka volunteers and workers) for helping make it a truly awesome event. Often people forget that the quality of the event is driven by the quality of the people behind it. You all proved that the Urban Jungle is a very hospitable environment for a Wild Onion. It was full of adventure, challenges and giggles ... along with a few bruises ... for us and the rest of the racers. We hope to join you again in 2002."

"When I heard about the Wild Onion I was intrigued by the nature of the event but also a bit skeptical about paddling, peddling and running about the rivers and streets of Chicago.I must say though, after the race, even though we finished second to the Finns, it was one the most enjoyable and exciting adventure races I have ever raced in! The organization was great ... the course was awesome ... and the people of Chicago seemed to welcome us with open arms. As Arnie would say, `We'll be back!' "

"Just wanted to thank you for putting on such an awesome event in Chicago the past two years. The Chicago Wild Onion is definately one of the funnest adventure races I've competed in. You have proved that the urban environment can be every bit as fun and challenging as the wilderness. There is no better City tour in the World. Heck we saw parts of the city that most Chicagoans will never see. The scooters were a great touch this year. Man those things rock! I'll never forget scootering down Clark Street at 3am when the bars were letting out or traversing and rappeling off the Navy Pier towers with that incredible view of the City skyline. We will definately be back again next year and hope we can bring a win for our hometown crowd."
