On Saturday, June 14th, in the closest finish in Wild Onion history, Team NYARA of New York, beat Team Nike ACG/Balance Bar by :55 seconds. Team NYARA led by John Hartley sprinted across the finish line at approximately 10:05 am and shortly thereafter, rode a zip-line off the USS Intrepid to the finish line. Team Nike ACG/Balance Bar led by Mike Kloser was less than a minute behind. The sprint to the finish capped a 19 1/2 hour effort by both teams that took them on a 120 mile course through all five boroughs of New York. With some 12 teams finishing in under 24 hours & over another dozen finishing in under 30 hours, the race was a huge success.
